Drawing Nature with Ballpoint Pen & Washes with Gail Hoban
Join Gail for a relaxed and supportive drawing session. Gain confidence drawing textures and shapes of trees, wild plants and landscapes with ballpoint pen. In the morning we will look at seasonal colours in nature and create background washes using acrylic paint, salt textures and splatters. Basic equipment and materials (provided). Gail supports sustainable and accessible art, that is easy to start and easy to repeat.
In the afternoon we will look at and draw patterns created by trees and wild plants. We will work onto the washes created in the morning. You are welcome to bring along your own inspiration, photos, branches, seeds, flowers. Gail shows you how to use ballpoint pens to develop confident drawing, with surprisingly subtle and energetic effects. You can extend what you learn beyond the workshop to draw a range of ideas and textures gathered from nature on your doorstep.
All materials included, a starter pack for each learner to take away including papers and a fine ballpoint pen. Paints, brushes, salt and reference materials provided during session.
Bring your own packed lunch which can be eaten in the space or outside by the canal if warm enough.
