Fiona Bennett
Photo montage ‘Skyline’
Artist and photographer Fiona Bennett art practice observes the changes and developments in our towns and cities. Although over the last decade we have witnessed massive changes in our communities Bennett focuses on our social history, architecture and forgotten stories.
Her process researches and encounters the city, town, place or person. Absorbing an impression gathering together the history and building a library of photographs with her camera from which the final image is constructed. Each artwork represents the past and present history she has discovered incorporating and fusing the passage of time.
After graduating with BA in Fine Art at ARU, Cambridge she persued further studies on the Southend based Alternative MA programme the Other MA (TOMA). She has exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in the UK and Italy since 2010 including the Royal Academy Of Arts in 2011 and 2025.
Her art practice has been described as a contemporary artist and photographer who sculpts with the photographic image, a painter whose brush is her camera and a researcher who extracts nuggets from our amazing communities.
