BODY AND SOUL 2 Sculptures by John Farnham and paintings by Lotte Farnham

Paintings by Lotte Farnham and Sculptures by John Farnham

JOHN FARNHAM worked as assistant to Henry Moore until his death in 1986. He has exhibited widely in Great Britain and Europe and was commissioned to do large bronzes for Kirk Douglas in the USA and clients in Denmark and Germany. His large bronzes can also be viewed at Pembroke College, Cambridge and outside the art block at the University of Hertfordshire. His most recent commission went to a client in the South of France.

He now works mostly in stone and marble, taking his inspiration mainly from human and animal forms.

LOTTE FARNHAM is a painter and printmaker, born in Austria. She graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2002. Although she used to work in different media, she uses now mainly acrylics and inks. The paintings in this exhibition have been inspired by a German saying: “die Seele baumeln lassen”. It means literally “to let the soul dangle”, and in a wider sense to refuel and relax in nature, without exerting oneself.
